Sunny Sun Peaks with Matt Hunter, Dylan Sherrard and Chayse Marshall

Fortuitous is a fantastic word and any opportunity to use it will be, by nature, a good one. If our tour of the Thompson Okanagan could be wrapped up in one word, it would have to be fortuitous. On our fourth and final day, we visited Sun Peaks and yeah, you guessed it, lady luck was on our side. We managed to snag not one but three killer riders – Matt Hunter, Dylan Sherrard and Chayse Marshall – to show us the park, shoot some footage and otherwise have a grand old time.

Jay Hoots update, Intermontane Challenge(s) with Tinker Juarez and Harper Mountain.

Larch Hills Traverse – an epic in the making

Following an evening of bike fixin’ and general carousing at Silver Star Mountain Resort, we were off early to meet up with the masterminds of the new Larch Hills Traverse, a 40-kilometre trail linking Salmon Arm to Sicamous in the Shuswap region of British Columbia. I hadn’t heard of this trail previously and was excited if not a little nervous given the near 40-degree forecast and the epic length of the trail.

Road Trippin’ the Thompson Okanagan - Part 1

Auspicious Beginnings:

Chances are if you’ve been riding a mountain bike for awhile, you’ve packed your bags, strapped a ridiculously expensive bike to a beater truck and set out on a road trip to explore fabled trails in far away lands. There’s an irony to the way we as bikers drive great distances to enjoy our pedal freedom. But carbon fat tire tracks aside, the road trip is ubiquitous to the sport of mountain cycling, and I for one am not about to abandon one of the cultural cornerstones of our sport and lifestyle.
