Gravity may have had a small booth but it was filled to the brim with new goodies for 2010. Their new Gravity Lite chainguide looks to be a massive improvement over last year's model, the Gravity Whip Cap takes the steerer tube routed front brake to a new level, and the 777 flat DH bar should be a hit with all the downhillers out there. And how about a 800 mm wide riser bar! Four videos and a load of pictures inside!

looking like a major improvement on the guide.
Its not the case of the way the chain guide works its the way in which companies design them .
for example when e13 first brought out the lg1 with taco mrp copied straight away mrp have always been known for there dual roller set up . e13 have always had a upper cage and roller bottom design.
these days its ow they have a good design lets all be sheep and follow what the market leader is doing, if compnaies spent the same amount of money on designing new guides instead of finding ways around other companies patents then all the chain guides would look different and work different.

Or ,you could say what is the point in designing a completely new system when the LG1 style is the best a chain guide can be? surely it would be pointless to make ones that are totally unlike a LG1 as they wold more then likely be inferior
I really liked the mrp2 one, with the smooth roller wheel. Very quiet comparet to my lg1, and probably smoother, because the lg1 has pretty much a derailleur pully, so the chain has to bend more times. Pretty insignificant though. Still i prefer te lg1 because it's much lighter.
New?? I've been riding the Gravity Light 800mm for almost a year now.

i know it might sounds stupid but i can see people running those whip caps for rear brakes and ghettoing it up or something
not dissing you dude but why would they bother ghettoizing a whip cap for the rears when they could just run a hydro gyro or just a plain gyro, even if they might weigh a little more
im not quite sure how you could ghetto it up, but i guess people would run them because they cost $8 whereas a decent gyro is quite a bit more than that.
putting a rear line through the steer would serve absolutly no usefull purpose.... WTF is wrong with people?
Hahaha...pillock.
The idea of running the front cable through the stearer tube is that the whole of the front brake moves together, thus not twisting the cable. If you put the rear through aswell youd twist the cable around the frame.
Think before you post.

"New Polymer body is more resilient to hits"is new idea~~!!??
I'll choice this one if it's ligther than the LG-1+....(cause they look really like the same)

I woud say this Gravity CG looks heavier than LG 1+. I am a bit sceptic about Gravity products with Lite. Where is this lightweight coming up? Handlebars, pedals and especially cranks have least to say average weight when compared to easton, shimano or truvativ products.

and uh,i uh,think uh, i um, should uh, smoke uh,like less, uh weed, before talking talking about pedals next time.
Can we please get more picture and descriptions as well as videos, in case you have a piss poor internet connection like i do?
I've been on the pedals, 777 bars, and guide now for about six months. They're all SICK! I have a 1.125" headtube and the stack height was always too high even with a flipped G-light stem. Now the bars are exactly where I want them - LOW. The guide is bomber - it's taken many hits and several hard 50/50 landings without fail. The boomerang on the guide is made of Dupont Hytrel which is much more elastic than polycarbonate (and way more resilient than alloy, which e13 uses in the boomerang construction of the LG-1).
I think all of these items are well designed and not simply indicative of companies being "sheep [that] follow what the market leader is doing." FSA/Gravity spent a substantial amount of time redesigning their earlier guide and thus, are now delivering a product that rivals the most popular chain guides on the market. I'm not here to flame anyone, I just think they make good stuff in most cases and the pedals, 777s, and new guide are, in my experience, exceptional. It's easy to criticize design when you're sitting at a keyboard and haven't even tried the product. FSA has smart and talented engineers that work hard to deliver quality parts - not just the latest purple ano do-dads. Cheers!

what are you on the payroll? LMAO, lets face it, the latest purple ano do-dads are what everyone wants.... if your gonna ano it black might as well do a batch of purple cause it actually sells
Not on the payroll - just have the stuff and like it. "LMAO", is that english, eh? Ano-purple isn't really my thing but those new Chromag bars are pretty sweet.
I know dude, just playin. Ano is definitely coming back. Let's just hope pro-tapers in high rise don't!

Haha, I'm waiting for the day kids chins are resting on their stems. 760mm is as wide as I'll go thanks!
haha like it bunkey, all my younger mates that i ride DH with always want wider bars and they are catching them on tree's already and all i ever hear about now is that apparently some company has released METER WIDE BARS thats just asking for trouble, you wont have enuf room to use your arms to cushion heavy landings soo if you want really wide bars say bye bye to your teeth and nose haha
i dont like how the taco is fully integrated to the mounting plate, one impact to it and there will be too much stress on the whole guide, possibly making it to crack and completely fall apart halfway down the hill
you think you could run single speed on a bike with a 1.5 steerer bearing in mind that they are usually 7 - 8" freeride bikes, hmm dont think the chain would like that some how
even if you use a sprung tensioner they only make them to take up to 5.5 inches of travel so running single speed on a 7inch bike will just snap the chain when the shock compresses THATS THE PROBLEM
because gear cable isnt like a bmx brake cable that carry's on working even after a couple of barspin's, you could add a meter to your gear cable and it would still jam up after a bar spin or whip, PLUS if you make your gear outer any longer on big travel bike you WILL NOT GET AN INNER LONG ENOUGH to reach the length of the bike plus the extra you've added for spins and whips, its a good idea for a single speed dirt jumper with both brakes but a 1.5 is just daft and unrealistic.
Strange because I dont have any broblem with gear housing on my 1.5 bottlerocket bike, and I'm gonna buy myself a whip cap too. There is enough lenght for 1 barspin so I'll try it out. Still I think it's a good idea. What housing do you use Ive got a shimano sp51 and it works good no mater how much barspins there are.
the whip cap is bull shit because bearclaw made his own like a long time ago all he did was drill out his raceface head cap
crackerbones: besides single speed use, running the front hose through the steerer will alllow 2+ bar spins with an average legnth shift housing/rear hose run together below the bars, a traditional hose routing in the front prevents this, and pimphander: lets see a standard starflange like claws take torqe with o 6mm hole drilled through it...even if you dont flip whip it'd save your rear hose/housing from getting yanked when you crash and your bars do a 720
