@thevondals- you've got a point but i would think from a fans perspective and what these particular riders disciplines are, that "bus" is owned by Specialized with these riders and McCaul and Semenuk probably party in that bus! don't forget you need seats for Hill, Brosnan, Voreis, Keene & Benedict in that bus too!
its a great line up, just saying Trek has last years best in DH and DJ, i hope other than mens DH its all different... With that, where is the Syndicate team , and Danny Hart ( i mean, team Giant) gonna sit in that bus?...its getting full...haha Voreis rocks, so does Shandro- 'free agency' and the corporate world kills loyalty...rooting interests are like the seasons; always changing..EXCEPT FOOTBALL..GO BIRDS...
Specialized sucks this year, because they are owned by the biggest jerk in the bike biz Mike Sinyard. A-hole spent $2 million on an illegitimate lawsuit against Volagi, but luckily the jury saw through Sinyard's bs, lies, intimidation, & misrepresentations and threw out most of the lawsuit. I don't care who they sponsor or how slick their ads are, I will never buy another Specialized product in my lifetime. Anybody who works or rides for Sinyard is a sellout, IMHO. To put it in perspective, Specialized spent more money on lawyers and their harassment lawsuits last year than they did on engineers. That is where their priorities are.
Their DH team is highly overrated, they didn't win any World Cup races last year, and they won't win any this year. Sam Hill is over the hill, and Brosnan pedals as fast as my Grandma. Hart will destroy them both on the technical tracks, and Gwin will certainly toast them on the pedal tracks. Doesn't help that they aren't clipped in and their bikes are mushy when pedaled.
I doubt their jumpers will win anything this year too, cause Mike Sinyard has created so much bad karma within the bike industry.
I'm so sick and tired of listening to protour's hateful rants about specialized. All their bikes are outstanding, their approach to biking where they believe that everyone should be riding a bike is a great philosophy to build up the biking community as a whole and until you have worked at an authorized specialized dealer and worked with specialized on the inside as I have have you shouldn't be hating on them as a company. It turns out that despite being the biggest bike company in the world they are extremely personal and I have never met a single specialized employee that is not stoked on bikes and extremely passionate about bikes 24/7. They are truly a great company, all throughout the specialized hierarchy.
Nice to see at least one company still sees the value in slopestyle. Seems like all the other companies are chasing after DH podiums and cashing in on 29'ers. Monty is definitely a talented guy, but he keeps his ego at bay too. This video and riding was badass by the way.

As for the content of this thread, I hate to admit that Mike LOOKS like the kind of guy I wouldn't typically admire/respect, the lip piercing, etc., and I guess I'm judgmental, but I can't help but be won over by him. He seems like a really great, and down to earth (what an oxymoron after watching his air time in this vid ) person, not to mention his riding style isn't just going big, it's going HUGE!! Well done Mike, both on and off the bike!
Great to see Mike move on from Banshee to Specialized and get some proper backup for his riding needs! (not a dig at Banshee, like Banshee, Yeti and many other smaller companies in the past, they were a springboard for an up and coming pro rider to get noticed and develop...)
question for Mike (sure you are lurking here on PB) - what differences have you found going from the Banshee Rampant (short travel, short-link virtual pivot) to the Specialized SX (short travel FSR)??
I saw on another video that he built that jump specifically to learn and land the 1080 on. They built all of the trail by hand and he estimated over 1000+ man hours to get it dialed in.
That's why I favorited the video. I love watching people build and trying to figure out how they make different features. I was granted permission to build on city land in my hometown and will head out this weekend to start being creative with an axe and shovel.

Banshee focuses on the young talent with huge potential to help them reach their goals... Mike reached some of his goals and picked up a big money sponsor, and we are happy for him... he is an increabile talent and I hope he has the career he deserves.
