Offering 900Lumens of night-blasting power with a burn time of 4hrs, NukeProof's Reactor light is one of the highest performing light units on the market. Packaged complete with different diffuser lens, a helmet mount, a very smart charger, all for an incredible price, it's sure to be a top seller for commuters and offroad night-riders alike.

Full details inside,The Nukeproof Reactor uses the Seoul Semiconductors P7 Emmiter - which combines 4 leds in one single component - we've sourced the highest commercial grade which is available in a good quantity - the D rated model - which for the technical amongst you pushes out 310,000Lux at just 8watt current drain. Compared to the lower grade C rated units, we get more power and better efficiency, which means we can get that from our 4cell battery, we get an amazing 900 Lumen darkness punching power combined with a burn time that's nearly twice as long as our leading competitors.

Such power and efficiency means different thing for different people.

FORGETFUL FRED
Turn up at the night ride having forgotten to charge your light? Our high capacity battery and switchable lamp mean that you're more likely to be able to get the whole way round without being plunged into darkness. Our batteries also have power-level indicators, and the lamp unit also has a "oh oh, you're getting low" light indicator, letting you switch down to a lower power level and get back to the pub in time, and safe too.

COMMUTING CARL
Our hi-vis flashing mode light will keep running for so long, we've not even had it run out yet. And we've even given you three modes to choose from - either the light is pulsing at a medium power steady pace, the light is always on medium power setting intensity pulse or the light is always on low power setting with a repeated pattern of five high intensity strobes followed by a short pause. Even better news, our engineers are working on a plug-in tail light that will work with our battery pack via a splitter line. It's coming!

ENDURANCE ERIC
Twentyfour solo hour racing? With 4hrs per pack, all you need to do is add in an accessory large capacity battery pack to double your burn time to 8hrs which should be enough to see you through the night (well, except for those scary winter races). Play super safe and pack a lightweight 2 cell pack as a spare in your emergency kit.

MYOPIC MALCOLM
Always wanted some more power but can't afford the brightest lights around? Add in an extra headlamp and bar mount, and double your power, but with a full 2hrs burn time on FULL brightness, you'll be burning retinas with your 1800Lumens of power. Mix up the filters on the lights to get the most of the flood/spot options. It's all there for you to do.

Bike lights are so way overpriced! It won't be 900 lumens, that's just what the LED can be driven at and I'll bet its not been driven too hard. The same output and burn time can be had as the above light for a hell of a lot less cash!
The Dealextreme bike light has the same LED, similar burn times and the complete package costs $79 or £47 inc shipping!!! Its also getting some pretty good reviews from people that know their lights too...

The CatEye Double Shot (EL 710-RC) has 1900 Candelles ( i think 1 Candelle is = to 1 Lumen but in french)with a burning time of 5h and the retail price in Canada is 400$ so if you have a good bike shop you should get it for around 300 - 350 $can

or if you really want to kill the dark you can get the HL-EL830RC with 5000 candelles

If the source emits light uniformly in all directions, the flux can be found by multiplying the intensity by 4π: a uniform 1 candela source emits 12.6 lumens.

 yeah, no worries-i ve run two-hopes-probs about the same..(lumins)as i like to run at least 2 lights from experience!!-.how-ever-i suggest-investing in some-night visions(analog-not digital!)-pixilation-is not fun....minty-is currently-TRYING-to-retro fit a SMALL-spy-cam-so it can record.....oh-happy daze..(nights)lol..

I have made a couple bike and gun lights using the same LED's and they are bright as heck and work great for DH runs in the dark (which is fricken fun on hot nights). With that set up it will be no where near 900lumens, especially given the losses from that lens. Still it will be bright. But at 250GBP thats a bit steep IMO. That over $400 usd if I mathed that out right. I can build a decent light, sell it with charger, battery (3ish hour runtime on high), and helmet mount for a bit over half of that (bar mount is still in the works).

these lights are overpriced, un reliable and overly complicated to use, out of 5 sets weve sold at our place 3 have come back with isssues, usualy battery related. if you want a good light set, buy hopes, simple as!

MY CAR HEADLAMPS ARENT THAT EXPENSIVE! THINK OF A PRICE AND MULTIPLY IT BY TEN!
  • 2 0
So true, a new set of aftermarket projector headlights for my car is three hundred for both. High end LED warning lights for police and fire have a couple dozen of these high power leds in them with advanced circuitry and cost about the same amount. people will pay through the nose for any product made for a special purpose. I would sooner buy one or two Stramlights and make mounts for them on my bars. 6 hour battery life and although they don't claim 900 lumens I can promise you they are stupid bright. Mine is at least twice as bright as my brothers 190 lumen light

nice stuff, especially Extreme Package but this price is extreme too! 250$, no way...
  • 1 0
The reason the cost is so high is that they have to pay Duracell to use the look.
  • 2 0
why does it say nothing of the charge life on the battery?

or you can buy one of these and save a fortune www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.18695

i know ill get negat. proped but i think that 249.99 pounds its a lot of money to get a light... ok it comes with lots os accessories and has a lot of power but that my opinion cheers
  • 3 1
Yeah I agree. When they said cheap, I was excited. Then I saw the 199 and 299 price tag? Screw that. Why are lights so freakin expensive?
  • 2 0
its a high quality light. yes it may be expensive. but for those who do night riding or early morning runs its probably a life saver having a good quality light. if its so expensive dont buy it.
  • 2 0
Um...kinda point there buddy. If they want to sell a product, make it cheap. I have not been able to find a good light for under 150$

check out the deal extreme light that someone posted above. its the same brightness as this and definitely the best deal out there. I've been using a flashlight version for a couple years and they are awesome.
