In addition, feel free to send as many entries as you want! I'm judging each entry, not how many you send in, so go crazy! The name can be a nickname as well.
About the spy shots; I started by sanding off the glossy finish and laid down my black primer. I then applied a base coat black mixed with a green flake. Then I laid out my masks for the graphics. The green tape represents the black graphics, and the exposed black areas will be the plaid parts.
Send your entries to: contest.painthousecustoms@gmail.com. Contest closes Monday, October 19th. The top 5 finalists will be announced Monday, October 26th. The winning design will be announced, along with pics of the completed helmet, on Friday October 30th! Second place will receive a pair of custom, PaintHouse Customs branded, Straitline bar end caps.
Thanks again and good luck!

Should have made a rule stating that you cant enter if you work in the graphic design or illustration industry. Because then essentially what your going to get is somebody who does this as a profession doing a professional job and winning purely because they have years of experience. Hopefully the judging will take into accounting natural talent and effort and is judged not based on the ideas of a free logo/font design and on the concept of having creative individuals taking an interest in the work and labour of this fine company. Just a thought.
You can easily have natural talent if doing some art course.. and effort is surely put in too! (currently on a foundation course at UCF). But true that the ones who have done it for years have better experience. Anyway.. good luck
Just because someone has chosen to further their art by making a career out of it they should be excluded?
I know many individuals with amazing natural talent that would put my work to shame. Yes i am a graphic artist, yes i have years of experience. However, most of my knowledge has been self taught. What is stopping you or anyone from achieving the same?
You might as well say, no one over 14 can enter!(that way the competition is based purely on natural talent!)
Just my Opinion. Best of Luck to all who entered!

I think that's a great idea actually. But I know its impractical based on the size of helmet ect. When i mean people who make a career about it, I only speak theoretically in the mentality that people who have years of career experiencing and years of education in the field will have better tools and skillsets, because talent only goes so far.
Dont get me wrong, im a graphic design student myself and In saying that I would include myself in those proclaimed. Not to be hating, just saying some 17 yearold who has highschool grade 10 art and a boatload of talent will have the ideas and creativity to make it happen but wont be able to put it to paper like someone trained in it.

Thanks get-hucked666, I appreciate your explanation.
But do not count those freehand pros out!
I am sure you have seen train cars, billboards, buildings, etc. with amazing pieces thrown up on them? I guarantee 90% of those artists have no advanced training in typography or illustration arts.
All I am saying is, while I understand where you are coming from; in my opinion we truly do not have a distinct advantage over anyone. Cheers
