The U.S.A. Cycling NYS Downhill Championship Series Finals will be held here at Plattekill this Sunday, October 25. This “Last Chance for Glory” Race is the last of our 2009 7-race Downhill series and will feature Double Points so positioning is anyone's game!
Details inside,
Series Champions will be decided and series awards will follow the event Sunday. Whether you’re competing in the series or not, all are welcome!
The Pro/Cat1 course, “UNHOLY” is one of the favorite trails at Plattekill Bike Park but has rarely been used as a race track. It’s a classic fall line trail, steep and tight with all that other good features that make Plattekill the place to race. Hang on for this speed ride, it will be quick with a few bumps along the way.
The New Cat2/Cat3 course will be fast and challenging. This will be the first time “da Bomb” will be used for a Cat2/3 race and will keep racer's attention on keeping their speed. There will be easier options for Cat3 racers.
Both courses will be on the Triple Chair so racers can enjoy the sun earlier and later in the day.
Saturday
9am-5pm Race Practice and recreational riding
Sunday
8am-10:30am Downhill Race Practice
11am Downhill Race
10am-5pm Recreational riding open
Not up for racing?
We will be open all weekend for recreational riding as well as racing. We offer the best value in Lift-Assisted riding: $40 for a 2 day pass. Plattekill also has bike and equipment rentals; guided tours and lessons available.
MORE CASH FOR ALL RACERS: Plattekilll will be paying cash 3 deep $20/racer entry for pro class and $10/racer entry to ALL CAT1 classes. Payback on the following percentage ratio basis 55/30/15. Cat2 and Cat3 will receive sponsor-donated prizes. On top of our cash payouts NEMA has partnered to pay CASH to the top three in ALL race classes thru the NEMA Cash Contingency Program. While upping the payouts, fees are lower $70 Pros, $60 Cat1, Cat2 & Cat3 $45! Entries include 2-day ticket.
