Clearly not your typical day at Outdoor Demo, it actually rained out there on Tuesday.

A big pile of Crank Brothers pedals at the Santa Cruz booth. Crank Brothers sponsored the event providing pedals for all the people with their clips that didn t want to bring their own.

Crank Brothers were the official pedal of outdoor demo. Here is a pile of pedals at the Santa Cruz booth awaiting riders.

The indoor show is hard to describe other than to say it is huge and you can't see it all even if you try really hard, something is always missed. Rob, Fraser and I set out to capture as much as we could of the randomness that is indoor and some gems popped up along the way.

Specialized has a new glove called the Wiretap and it is for all us users out there that can't part with our touch screen cell phones while out on a ride.

And it works!

Only 40 pairs of these McLaren shoes were made.

While there were over 40 pairs of shoes on this SIDI wall.

Soulcraft put out one of the best videos this past year and this sticker may be my favorite in show as well.

Chrome has a few employees on site making bags beer coozies and more. Very cool booth with a full service bar a Dj and more.

At the Chrome booth, you could pick up a bad ass messenger bag, or even get one done up custom.

Chrome s booth was pretty massive and very cool.

Or simply grab a cold beverage and rock out.

My favorite sign at the show - it just looked really good and caught my eye.

The Blur TRc is in my top three pics for AM bikes next year - check it out!

The Blur LTc has been around for a few seasons now, but there is no sign of it slowing down anytime soon.

Indoor Day One Pics - Urge Archi Enduro Helmet in Veggie finish.

Urge is still a new helmet brand, but they are making headway in North America. The Enduro Archi is their latest offering for racers and riders looking for more protection, but while still being able to breath easily.

The Archi Enduro uses the same helmet as the Down O Matic, but the jaw line is cut down for ventilation.

The Veggie Archi Enduro model is produced using "Green" methods and retails for $250, while its lesser "Green" counterparts retail at $180 USD.

Wandering the show is one thing, but grab a map or you'll get lost - just be sure you know how to use the map...

This note was originally hanging on the clothes to my left, but I reckon that I needed it more, or at least it was more fitting on me.

SRAM gave parts to various artists to create something unique - this is what they each had to work with.

Here is one of our favorites that were put together - creativity at its best.

INNO makes impressive racks and vehicle accessories, but their promo truck is ridiculous.

I can remember the first time I met 5.10 and they were tucked away in a corner behind the BMX section at Interbike. How things have changed. Top riders in all disciplines rely on 5.10 and they are here supporting the sport in a big way.

If you rock flats pedals (and likely 5.10 shoes), then there is a good chance that you've taken some time to check out twenty6's high end pedals. Made in Montana, USA these pedals are the top tier in high end flats.

Pivot is best known for their DW link full suspension bikes, but the new Point is their first foray into the DJ hardtail market and should release later this year.

Nutcase likely had the most colorful helmets on display.

Me trying to relive some dumb and dumber experience from the past.

Royal clothing had a nice and clean booth as well as a really good looking clothing line up on display - things are looking good for 2012 for Royal.

If you won the World Champs this year, then the chances are really good that your bike was on display somewhere at Interbike this week. Danny Hart won the DH and his bike was at SRAM.

World Champion Danny Hart along with the hired help so that you know that he is the man! Congrats Danny!

@Ih4Life: I'm with you man, Gwin completly owned DH this year with his record setting five wins. Danny is an up and coming star that rides insanely well, but winning one race (even world champs) doesn't top Gwin's stellar season.
With that said im stoked to see both Danny and Gwin go head to head next year. The two of them going at it should push the sport to a whole new level.

Gwin beat danny at almost every race this year. Danny is a sick rider, and so is Gwin, no one has forgotten about Gwin. Gwin set so many records this year. Gwin is the best rider in the world, he proved it Over and over again. And yes he is american!

One thing I dont understand why I got negative proped for just wondering, and because Im american, Brits have owned in downhill for years shit you guys got steve peat one of the greatest riders ever but I ask why aaron got forgotten a little, makes me a stereo typical american. I think everyone forgot that Gwin was RIGHT on pace with Hart at Champery until he crashed AND he is from Cali where it RARELY rains. Quite impressive to say the least, its too bad Gwin made that screw up during his race run. Danny was on FIRE

I agree that Danny's run was rock solid but the fact that he won that race just shows that he is capable of riding more pinned in the rain than everyone else. Had the course been dry I bet the results would be like they were almost the entire season...Gwin #1. Also, like frdh said, Gwin was right on pace with Hart but he crashed.

Gwin is an animal...I saw it first hand at Windam when he walked all over Gee and Peat who are both killer riders and both more consistent than Hart.

Gwin dominated this season and obviuosly proved he was a better more consistently fast rider than Hart. Hart proved he was absolutely fearless in the wettest possible scenario.

And this is dannys first (maby second im not too sure) as an elite, gwins been elite while longer than danny, making dannys win more impressive.
Having said that Gwin is still an amazing rider and did deserve the wins he got

I think some of it comes down to personality too. I don't feel like Gwin is the type of guy who would walk around with an entourage of showgirls; just his style, not a real flashy dude. All business all the time. Hart is the World Champion too and did so in very dramatic fashion. Just sayin.

Both Gwin and Hart are head and shoulders above the other riders right now though, in my opinion. Can't wait to see what happens next year.

This is gonna blow your minds: I'm British, but i don't hate Gwin! I've liked the bloke ever since watching 'Mojo Trail Diaries' when he was still on Yeti and not posting WC wins. He is awesome, and rode better than everybody else all season and to set a new record in the process was testament to that. However, Hart produced something truly special in the last race of the season.

Neither of them will be forgotten for a long time, but this is Dannys time in the limelight. Yes Gwin could have challenged Danny for the win, but he made a mistake, so its completely irrelevant. Who are we to take the glory (sorry!) away from Danny for what is probably the best display of downhill racing in history...

People outside our niche world of mountain biking won't understand Gwins achievement, however anyone watching the video of Hart smashing the field by close to 12s can recognise how spectacular it was. Hopefully then, more people will become aware of our sport and the level of skill involved, it certainly worked for MacAskill! There's no need to bring nationality into this, just be happy that two guys have made this season one to remember, next year should be incredible. Hopefully Brosnan will be up there too, that lad is pinned!

I'm with you FastDHR, Gwin is still a huge figure on the DH scene and definitely the man to beat in 2012. But you just gotta love Hart, the kid has such a wicked riding style! He puts down one of the most amazing runs of all time and caps it off with a massive whip at the end, that was just beautiful!

Its got nothing to do with how much he won by. Danny won the world championships, the world cup overall is nothing compared to that. You can win just about every race like Gwin did, but you still cant call yourself a world champion. Gwin is still there, but the world championships just carries so much more weight that the world cup over all.

And you cant say "Gwin probably would have won if he didn't crash", because he did crash, he didn't hold his own in those conditions, whilst Danny Hart did. Simple as that.

Noone cares what country any rider is from until World Champs day. I was stoked for Gwin to win at the start of the season, and it truly is impressive what he has done in the sport this year. But Danny Harts run is one of the largest winning margins ever, on a track that everyone said was challanging and a few people even said it was steep. Then it became crazy muddy, and he still managed to dominate everyone.

Also consider that with Gwin dominating the season Hart is the underdog, and everyone loves an undergod.

interesting debate right? rob roskopp once argued that the world championships should be done away with. what's the point of having an entire series to declare the season's best rider (ie. world cup overall champ), when a single race determines world champ. anyway, all the arguing is fun, but we'll get our answer next year, unless danny wins overall, and gwin wins worlds... then we can resume this stupid bickering based on nationality.

Gwin is something else, when it comes to 2011 Dh he is top dog for sure. No doubt he will be in 2012. He makes the impossible look simple, especially when it is dry and the track is super wide.
When it comes to old school Dh, what was going to be the direction of the sport a few years back, he need to do some (a tiny bit) work.
Gwin's worst enemy is Gwin, he never seems to exude any passion for the sport.

For all those who think he just started racing last week, he raced as a kid in BMX, then went onto Mx, now he is into Dh.

I hope his rise to success (not fame) opens the minds of more also ran Mx boys to come in and shake up the sport.

depends on the type of touchscreen... most likely yours is pressure sensitive rather than the Iphone which uses electrical/static signals from your fingers

Depends on the gloves. My Fox gloves work with my iphone, but my Troy Lees don't. It's a nice feature to have, because by the time I realize my phone is ringing I don't usually have much time to answer it, and taking gloves off just kills more time. No biggie, but it's nice.

Most gloves Ive used work on touch screens, even super thick ski gloves. the electro static thing was a downside to using the original ipods with the scroll wheel but to my knowledge touch screens operate differently.

a final thought on the subject: maybe it has to do with moisture? as we all know, sweat has moisture and salt, so it should conduct. maybe if the glove material soaks up a little bit of it, it enhances the response with the gloves.... any shredding Physics major out there who could enlighten us?

Try riding uphill (obviously not pure DH riding) for a while on a warm day with a full face. It feels like you're suffocating. When I have a long uphill ride to get to a gnarly DH run that warrants a full-face helmet, I sometimes strap the DH on my back and wear a XC lid for the climb. This helpmet might be an OK compromise.

Ifs, buts & maybes its all coincidental, the dude crashed under pressure and he didnt win - Ala Peaty @ les Gets a few years back.
Having the rainbow jersey is the pinnacle of cycling no matter what discipline. Gwins good but is he really that good, in a year where Minaar wasnt on form, Gee had issues, Sam Hill was injured. Lets all hope everyones fit next year!.....

dose any one understand the point of the Urge helmet. Imean the point of a fullface is to protect ur face lol.

Stoked on that glove, Marmot made a winter glove that had that tech in it, it was awesome. Especially when commuting, you want to change the song on your iPod/iPhone, now you can.

I used to think like you Raleigh - until i got an iphone. Handy on the trails for the nice camera, there are also a lot of places coming out with gps trail maps. I can get a whole map of Squamish riding trails on my iphone which will give me exact gps coordinates telling me if i'm in the right spot. Having gloves that make that easier is a nice little feature.

For some reason I've never had a single problem using my screen with gloves on (evo4G), and my one mate never had a problem using his iPhone with gloves on. These seem to be a solution looking for a problem.

i'm with you raleigh. i have a phone that works (also with buttons) a camera and an ipod classic. my initial reaction to this glove was 'what is this world coming to', biking's about nature and escape. then i realised i frequently use my camera and ipod on my bike...

actually he was 1 second DOWN, and that gap would have got bigger no doubt down the trail, Gwin was on a run to give Brosnan's time a challenge but not Danny's.... and stupidly saying '"if he didn't crash" is just ridiculous beyond belief!!!! If Gee hadn't crashed several times he would have won too! durr! Lets put that into American terms... um... its like saying if the Steelers had scored more than the Packers in the Superbowl... then they would have won! - very pointless statement indeed!

- Gwin wasn't the only guy to crash, he just crashed after the first split, but nearly all the riders crashed at some point too, that's what separated Hart's run into legendary status!
