Interesting to see what pros will show up, especially considering it's in the middle of FMB World Tour Season. No matter what, the results will be creative, especially with Aaron Chase!

Just mtb's now? What's the point of an "odd couple" contest if the wheel size is the same. Thats the part I loved the most seeing bmx and mtb together for once without people hating about wheel size. Thats what made it so unique.... I'm okay with a just mtb contest but at least change the name...

They should throw a road bike or fixie into the mix, chris akrigg has done some crazy stuff on a fixie.

^^ amen to that. The contest rule should be that they have to ride different types of bike. Doesn't matter what they are. Could be a chopper and a roadie, fixie and a monkeybike, xc bike and a Bmx, tandem and a penny farthing. With them both on MTB's it'll just be the same as any other MTB vids?

I'm sorry but i don't think that people will be pulling off gnarly transfers on tandem bikes or choppers. OK, MAYBE a couple of the best will be able to do a simple spine transfer or something like that, but that's just asking for trouble. And atomlab31, what's wrong with MTB vids or contests? If you want to see crazy stuff on crazy bikes, go to the circus.

I have seen several videos of people doing backflips on road bikes and cheap walmart bikes, it is possible and entertaining. I would think a "professional" rider could do it.

What are they saying when they say.......... " Tricks and Transfers that wouldn't normally be allowed" ? ?? Does the park have a rule about doing tricks normally?

No mostly just transfers, Like ridding lines backwards or going from section to section

Hey , it's ray the jackass. Sorry, it has been tough year with expanding to Milwaukee, the economy, riders not getting the travel budgets they used to......... Some of them don't even have jobs anymore. We are doing are best.

I have a few ideas for next year. Some may be winners and some may be losers. As i have shown, i am not afraid to try something different. It will still be cool, trust me.

Dont worry Ray, We know it will always come out good. Growing pains hurt sometime but are neccesary. Without change there can be no progress. One of the reasons I loved the Odd couple was that for a brief time it took down the wall between BMX and MTB. Cant wait to see what you have coming up. Keep on rollin.

If a BMXer rides a mountain bike, he still a BMXer. The BMXer would still exist, right? Snowboarding and skiing worlds have fused together somewhat, same with MTB and BMX, in my opinion. The contest admittedly would be just that little bit more cool with both BMX and MTB, but what 're y' gonna do, right? A contest will be going down, so something cool will happen. Crack a beer, and watch nutters in the air.

I don't see what the economy has to do with why the event can't include BMXers. picowatt nailed it. I liked that the videos would show up on BMX and MTB websites and open some closed minds.

Ok spank, maybe you didn't mean what you wrote, but calling the organizers at Ray's "jackasses" is just stupid. How can you not expect people to neg prop you after you called some smart and awesome people jackasses? And don't forget that these are the same people that came up with the original "odd couples" event.
