Day 5- The Price is Wrong Drew!

Yesterday, my childhood dream came true. I got to go watch a taping of The Price is Right. We were all pretty beat from falling and I was beat from clicking my shutter button a few too many times (I was pretty trigger happy from the nice light in Reno) so we thought taking a day off would be a good idea. Since I was 8 years old watching Adam Sandler fight Bob Barker in Happy Gilmore, I've wanted to go watch the show. Myself, Ryan Meyer, Nick Meyer, and Joe Perrizzo attended the show. We spent 7 hours waiting in line starting at 6 am to try and get a chance to be on the show. It was worth of ever second.

We got into LA at 3:30 in the morning after sending it from Reno. We found ourselves in Beverly Hills, trying to find a hotel. That wasn't the smartest idea, because 3 kids from Canada and one from Spokane don't have $1200 CAN to spend on a hotel a night. So we proceeded to ask a young male couple where we might find a cheap hotel. We fond ourselves at the Little Inn, for 108$ a night. It was rad. We fell asleep at 4:01 am, with our alarms set for 5:00 am, awesome.

Arriving at CBS studios late, I was tripin' pretty hard, but we were lucky enough to be given tickets 67 68 69 and 70. We were pretty pumped and the waiting began.

7 hours later we found ourselves starting the wave in the "Bob Barker studio". Being from Canada, and Joe loving hockey we thought, we'd give it a try and it worked! Everyone was getting super pumped on it, and we all had a great time. We then tried to start chanting "CANADA, CANADA" that failed, and we got a few awkward looks from a few people in the studio.

The game show started and we heard name after name but for some strange reason we never got called. By the end of the hour, we hadn't been called, our dream was over. As Happy Gilmore once said "the price is wrong Bob". Except it's now Drew Carry who runs the show.

Overall the experience was great, I had never gotten a chance to do something like that before, and being in 20 degree weather in shorts and tee-shirts was a bonus. We walked around LA for a little bit and looked at David Hasselhoff's star where Joe had a little idea in his mind.

It was pretty funny. We also went in a magic shop and got freaked out by David Blaine's mentor. It was unreal.

Stay tuned, as we make our way to Woodward and show you the never featured stuff from Woodward. A little taste... Dual track, slope style course, and a sit down with Andrew Taylor and Mike from Atomlab.

That is pretty cool that you got to fulfill a childhood dream. However, I'm not going to lie, but the new Price is Right with Drew just isn't the same as it was with Bob Barker. Drew just isn't enthusiastic enough and he lacks the "showmanship" that Barker had. It seems like he has turned the Price is Right into a comedy show as he engages the crowd differently. Maybe I am just not used to him since I have been watching the show since I was in kindergarten but it just feels like the nostalgic has been lost. I couldn’t imagine what it would have been like if Rosie O'Donnell won the gig to be Barker's replacement but man it has honestly gone downhill.
