Totally agree. It's not too often you see such a little company go after more than one niche of the market...

Looks pretty dope, but 5.8 lbs for a 24" frame? seems kinda heavy to me.

flag banshee-ripper (Jan 20, 2010 at 8:03)
well it is steel, and most people on twenty four inchers are known for being harder on bikes that twenty six inch riders...

flag lexx (Jan 20, 2010 at 10:04)
i would think a 26" frame would need material hence be heavier BUT OH WAIT hmmm NS maj= 4.8 pounds! Well okay find lets be fair and go see a 24specific bike! NS Sub24"=5.1 pounds. Okay guys i'm not really here to rain on black market's parade. I'm sure this an awesome bike no doubt just like the mob, but it is indeed a heavier than most steel frames, which i guess is okay considering all the components black market makes are relatively light! Compensation? lol

edit: for a US company frame comparison.....Eastern BB26"=5.6lbs

It's been established this is a disasterous typo. Let's look at the other weight before we start shitting all over black market. 2.3kg = 5.08 pounds.

flag lexx (Jan 20, 2010 at 13:06)
oh... sorrys abouts that then! 5pounds is godly light O.O

flag crs-one (Jan 20, 2010 at 13:09)
Well it essentially splits the difference between NS (4.6), Tonic (4.8 ), and then Dobermann (claimed +0.5) and everyone else on the other side.

flag EpicBiker627 (Jan 20, 2010 at 20:06)
2.3 kgs could also be a typo?... Food for thought. Confused

Fo sho! The new contraband looks nice. It's fame is quiet light and durable. Plus it's styling. Good colour tones and matches. I like the idea if rigid forks but I'm more of a single crown fork fan for dj bikes. But it's a good street bike to. Have they introduced any in Canada? I haven't seen any yet in the stores

I got mine built up today. IT IS 5.8LB (2.6kg) not a typo unfortunately. Carter said he'd correct the weight described.
On first ride it's a bit heavier than my suburban 24" but it feels very nimble. I'll post up a pic soon.

It's a really nice frame, props to BlkMrkt for making it, but with all the features it has (integrated headset, integrated seatpost clamp...), it's still really heavy. For people that want to ride 24"s go with a Dobermann.http://dobermannbikes.blogspot.com/

so is the fork a 24'' specific fork? say you were to put a 24'' for like the fork for the Sunday Model C or 24'' S&M fork on it. Would that make it super low and awful in the front or waaa? just wondering cuz first pic looks super clean and not a big nasty gap like the running a DMR Trailblad 26'' would leave(not saying DMR produces a bad fork) just a question. It be nice to get rid of the bmx and dj and have one bike and i feel goofy huge on bmx anymore switching from DH n trail bikes, down to bmx when go to the park.

NS bikes makes one as well. 1/2 lb lighter, but $150 more. And I've seen many people built a 6lb rideable frame up to a 24/25lb complete. My like it!!!!

It's 24 specific. You wouldn't want such a short frame on 26 anyway.
BlkMrkt do have other amazing frames for 26" though (the MOB and Riot frame) and a 26" full build
