The C.O.P. Bike Park Needs You!
May 9, 2008Published by bruleAfter having one of the most successful volunteer days we've ever seen at Canada Olympic Park in our bike park this past Saturday, we are asking for help once again!
The snow that has hit Calgary for the third time this spring has slowed our redevelopment progress once again. We considered pushing back our opening by another week but have decided that if we can get the help we need next week, we will be able to open at least a portion of our new bike park on May 17. We have decided to push the Springin' Open event to May 24. Gravity Logic and our trail crew have been working as hard as they can to get our park ready for the 17th and it looks like we could use a hand for the homestretch! When: next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings at Canada Olympic Park from 4 – 8 p.m. More info: Check in at C.O.P.'s Guest Services to fill out a waiver on those days and then take your rake and shovel to the trees! We've had such amazing support from the Calgary bike community and to say we appreciate it is a major understatement. This is our last long haul before we open and could use all the help we can get! If you've got an evening or two free and want to be part of this amazing project, come check us out… See you all next week! Sarah Leishman Canada Olympic Park www.canadaolympicpark.ca |

Ah man, I can't wait to see this place. June 8 race seem so far away....
Just when I thought I was out... they pull me back in.
(I'm actually glad to help—I hope we can get everybody back out to pitch in this week. It's actually a lot of fun, and super cool to meet more riders and all that.)

Good to see people out digging, Trails don't just build themselves! Glad to see the younger generation eager to help with building. There should be A-Class trails everywhere in the next 10 years!

Hey For anyone interested, i took some shots while i was out there. they are in my album.
I was super glad to see what went down that day. made the wait for the park to open seem that much easier to wait for
