I am at my place, family is here too. I opened my "present" I ordered from CRC... Full Alpinestars outfit (t-shirt, jersey, shorts, socks, underwear, gloves), FiveTen's FR shoes, Gyro Xen 2011 helmet, IXS Hack kneepads, Fizik Gobi XM K:ium, ODI Ruffian grips. In the package was a Bell Slant helmet, a Alpinestars keychain, Stan's tire sealant and some Finishline chain wax and wet chain lube for 2 friends' Xmas... Because it's not about getting only, it's about giving too!

Spent the holiday at the Gran mums house. Normaly after that much food I'd say hey lets go ride!! Oh wait thats right... I've been an unemployed college student for 2 f'ing years and my one and only bike has a blown rear wheel and no rear derailur. So today I've decided f*ck it, I'm gonna bust out the visa that I put away to avoid ruining my outstanding credit and I will go to the shop and order a new wheelset and derailur because, and dont get me wrong I'm stoked for all you guys that got sweet gear for the holiday, but it pisses me off that the one thing I love to do I cant because of money. So the hell with it, bike parts on credit here I come because 3 months of not riding has driven me officially mad!! Cheers PB =)

did the same as last year: rode Mach Chicken Christmas day on my tricked out Bottle Rocket up on the Sunshine Coast of BC with my son - only difference was, last year it was cold but after one run my hands were toasty warm so we did a few more rips - this year it was heavy rain with mini ponds on the flats and i slammed after a step up gapper into a slippery steep downhill berm...still, a great run and memories [ my son is an organic farmer / musician / artist / chef who lives 20 minutes shuttle from the top of the runs so after a Christmas rip we go back to his farm, sit in front of a fire, eat great food, drink homemade fruit beer...by the way, i am no spring chicken and might be slowing down a tad, but i can still do a double 8 foot gap or a decent drop or 2 straight days at Whistler garbo on down with no complaints so far, and am stoked to make Christmas day a traditional rip...so anyone that wonders if they will still be shredding when they are really old, like 40 45 50 55 or even 60 !...i turned 67 last july...so aside from old fart bragging rights, my point is, age is just a number if you take care of your body, and it will take care of you later on. happy trails and joy to all this season.

hoot man ! it's in the genes: my dad was 89 when he croaked and was a Scot from the highlands - had the constitution of a canal horse and would have lived longer but liked his whiskey and beer way too much :-) instead of i drinking [ excessively ] i ride.
i have been mistaken for 47 so that's what i put on my profile :-) and appreciate that you think i'm cool; my son does too. life is good...and that's what is really cool !

i realize not everyone is blessed to have my strength and health at this age but unless there are serious health issues EVERYONE at any age can change their lifestyle to carry on with activities that should be normal even at 67 or older - problem is motivation, laziness and worse; we are often conditioned to believe the garbage that comes from doctors and many others that it's time to put away the 'toys' NONSENSE! look at the people who are saying this : mostly pasty faced couch potatos who have bought into the ' i can't do that, i'm too old ' [ with respect to your dad ]

i have had a pretty difficult life, but through it all recognized i had strong genes and worked to keep this going : Yoga without EVER missing one morning of it - unless i was ill or injured, and generally ate healthy - i know a lot of you love to party and Red Bull is your preferred poison, but there is NO WAY you will be riding at 67 if you abuse the only body you have now.
anyway, not trying to rain on anyone's parade, to each their own, but just a short story about a guy who is pedalling up a steep hill on his bike and curses, that no matter how hard he pedals he is not getting anywhere; a guy who passes him says: " hey buddy, your brakes are on!" the guy who is not getting anywhere replies : "yeh, but i'm pedalling" "yeh, but your brakes are on!" says the other guy again and so it goes... "yeh, but i'm pedalling" and goes and goes - the point is: most people have the brakes on in their life and no matter how hard they try they go nowhere...you HAVE TO TAKE THE BRAKES OFF: let go of all and any opinion [ the brakes ] that it is too late to do something especially because "your too old"

PS i apologize if i sounded like i was blowing a pretty loud horn - not my intention; i just feel so blessed that i can still ride even with decent cardio to do trails with no shuttle at all, but anything that [seems] 'extra - ordinary' in someones life is almost always done by hard work and your dad may have already done his extraordinary 'hard work' with you :-) and now it is his choice to 'take it easy' and get his high by watching you...

Got a Troy lee designs red sprint jersey, also got a grab bag of mounts for my GoPro HD Hero camera. got my dad a box set of the earthed DVDs(Earthed 1,2,3 & 4). got a PARKTOOL derailleur hanger alignment guage and toolbox to put that and all my other tools in. and got my front fork rebuilt. This is truly the most wonderful time of the year. spending time with family and friends and getting awesome gifts. Hope everyone else is having an outstanding christmas!!!!! I spent it at home with my wife and daughter here in Peterborough, ontario, canada. Opened many gifts from Santa, DS for my daughter, DVD's for the wife and a EVOC bike bag for me. at home in a small village in wales with my mum,dad and nan! lucky there 3o odd miles of quarry behind my house that i can escape too! o ye...! and i got a park tools bike repair stand finaly!! e13 chain ring, some bike shirts, and gunna go order a society xeno fork, spank single speed chain, chain tool!, mavic rim and some spokes and nipples then off to the bike shop to get it built up before i go back to uni! o, and drank plenty of beer and ate my weight in turkey most likely!!

I'm 33,so i spent my day with the family,a scarf and a pair of slippers was my haul.Ha-ha.But i get a lot more out of seeing my families faces at this time of year.I bought myself a pair of Funn Misfit wheels off C.R.C,and splashed out £200 on a Fox 36 talas fork,the MKI's,my personal favourites.Get the summer build in full swing.

on the 24th (which is the most important christmas day in germany) I spent 9 hours doung the dishes in a restaurant. yesterday morning I was volunteering for the race center, skiing and for the evening we enjoyed a nice dinner prepared by one of our roommates. then drinkin some beers, playing cards and giving presents. got some tasty chocolate, a fireball whiskey, skiing underwear, a buff, a littlebit of cash from my grandparents and most of all, a good time!
