 they should set up wind blocks and move spectators down wind for events like this.. its also another way for companies to advertise.. yeah the wind would be big but if you make them look nice, it would just add to the event.
i've set a wind block up once on one of my local jumps just to test out what it would be like.. and i tell you, its a night and day difference.. and my block wasn't even covering the entire "airbourne" area.

 Until you try to do their jobs, it is a lot tougher than one thinks. I have done some awards announcing and been asked to do a race and I was horrible at it. It is tough.
