Interbike 2008 - Dakine's new Clothing line

Posted: Oct 1, 2008

Dakine is best known in the mountain bike world for their packs and gloves, but for 2009 they have launched a full line up of clothes for us riders. They have had jerseys in the mix for a few seasons, but now the shorts are following suit and creating some really nice kits. We were able to wrangle up Dakine team riders Geoff Gulevich and Emily Johnston for a fashion photo shoot at the indoor show.

Check out the videos, pics and details inside:

Chico talks about the new 2009 Dakine clothing line up:

Men's Shorts:

There are three new designs for shorts and they all cater to a certain sector of our riding groups and they are all named after trails and riding areas around Hood River. The 8 Track and the Syncline both feature moisture wicking polyester mesh liner, back stretch panel, inner leg vents and a gusseted crotch for increased range of motion. The Chorus is a six pocket cargo short. Each short also features double stitched seams and triple stitched critical seams for added durability.

Syncline $85 MSRP

Chorus $75 MSRP

Chorus $75 MSRP

Jerseys for the season are available in short-sleeve, ¾ sleeve, and sleeveless versions with subtle all-over prints. Featuring moisture wicking bird eye polyester, AEGIS Microbe Shield anti-bacterial fabric treatment and an eyewear chamois sewn into the interior side seam, all jerseys are designed with performance and comfort in mind.

Anyone else think they look a bit too much like sombrio's clothing from previous years? Not that impressed

No. They look less over-the-top, bad, and expensive than Sombrio.

Exactly... Sombrio still has the full 07 line on their website for sale at full list price! Dakine is a sick brand!

Super nice chick. Very Super!!! The designs.....Ahhh, how you spell SOMBRIO ! The Girl's stuff is solid, the guys stuff is tight jean and homo-erectus, white leather slipper style.

Yes, thats it... lets all go back to the eighties, bring out some super cool-mo-dee designes with retro colours and presto... we have fashion right. Umm maybe not. However if we pin these "tight jean" styled jerseys to a superstar it will sell... right???
Same idea as the ADIDAS shades (crap) on Steve Rominuk and Reebok Crap on Sydney Crosby... It's a sad, sad day...

If that gonna be the price I'll get some Big Grin
Awesome, plus who cares if they look like sombrio (except sombrio itself Razz ) I always liked both companies. I think I'll have new dakine outfit for 2009 season Smile

I may just have to get some Syncline and Chorus shorts, as I ride both places/trails on an almost weekly basis. For the uninitiated, The "Hood River DJs" Steve Romaniuk mentioned in Drop In Season 5 Episode 5 are the left side jump line on the Chorus trail at Post Canyon. Likewise, the high-speed cliff side singletrack in the Oakley mini-movie "Have You Seen It?" is the Agony trail section of Syncline, 5 miles east of Post Canyon on the Washington side of the Columbia River.

Sweet to see Oregon freeride getting recognized on a global scale, even if it is just trail names for retro shorts... Cool

nothing wrong with the 80's influence. then again i grew up in the 80's unlike most of the kids on this site! tight pants look a lot better than the big ass baggy look anyhow....on guys or girls. sombria should adjust their price the way dakine sells, but overall decent stuff at a pricepoint we can all afford..
