Devinci Bikes - 100% Canadian - Bromont

We awoke Sunday morning to blue skies, yellow leaves and cool fall weather. What more could you ask for from a late October day? Our crew was eager to get to the parking lot and suit up so that they could show us the trails that they love to rip on all summer long. Bromont is only about an hour outside of Montreal and is quickly becoming a major destination for mountain bikers. This year they hosted a World Cup DH event on the back side of their mountain, an area in which they are expanding their DH trails to more and more.
Check out all my quick clips, pics and Ambrose’s movie from the day of riding in Bromont!

The crew from Devinci included Maxime, Simon, Guillaume, JP, Scott, Veronica, David, Justine, Jeff and Jacques. They were all wearing Wilson jerseys that are bright orange and white, so everyone was easy to find and since we were riding in a crew, a lot of folks recognized us. It was good to see how a lot of the workers interacted with the other riders there as they all seemed to know a few people, I guess that’s what happens when you go there often to ride and test the bikes you are making.
Ski Bromont is located roughly an hour outside of Montreal and offers a wide variety of lift access mountain biking and other activities. During the summer I was told that they run an extensive waterpark and even a dry luge area that looked so fun that I may have to come back just to try that out. The bike park runs from May 3rd to October 19th and is open from 10 AM to 5 PM early in the season, then stays open until 6:30 PM during the peak of summer and returns to a closing time of 5 PM for the later summer, early fall riding.
Lift ticket prices:
12 and Under - $27 mid week, $32 weekends and $49.99 for a season's pass.
13 and Older - $32 mid week, $37 weekends and $149.99 for a season's pass.
Your lift ticket gets you access to some 28 gravity fed trails for all skill sets.
The first few runs we all rode together in a pack as neither Ambrose nor I had ever been to Bromont riding, so we got the tour. Like most resorts I've visited, Bromont does a lot of work with machines, but one thing the machines can't alter at Bromont is their rocks. There was a lot of rock riding to be had there and on the more advanced runs, I had to be on my toes. I can see why a lot of the western riders talk so highly about the technical riding as well as the fast open sections up at the resort. Riding in a large group, it was easier to stick to the intermediate options in order to not get too separated. Here are some group shots from those runs.

While the whole crew rode really well and are very passionate about all aspects of biking, there was one rider in the group that stood out with his love for DH riding and racing; Simon Gauthier. We pulled Simon aside at the end of the day and did a run just with him and we captured a lot of pics and video from it. Here is Simon in action:

Riding at Bromont was a blast and at the end of the day I was so happy to have made the trip out east for the closing day. Now I know that I have to get out there mid season for some rips. Thanks to the guys that got Ambrose and I's bikes ready for the day so that we able to really enjoy it up there. The colors that we got to shoot in during fall in Quebec are simply amazing too and truly added to the overall riding experience!
