When you have a vision, it doesn’t matter if it’s going to the moon in a rocket ship you built in your backyard, it’s simply a matter of going balls to the wall until you either make it a reality or crash trying.

Silver Star Resort Update - June 24th

Last editted Jun 23, 2009 at 18:52
Source: Cam Sorensen and Silver Star Bike Park

It is upon us! The Bike Park at Silver Star opens June 25 and I must say, I'm jacked! The snow is off the trails, they're tacky, buffed, and just waiting for the Comet Express Six-Pack to start turning. The Trail Crew are busy putting the finishing touches on all the new sections of trail, including new sections on Rock Star and Double Dog. Once that's done, they're re-walking all the trails to make sure the heavy rain last weekend didn't leave any puddles to get your toes wet. As with every opening there may be the odd muddy spot, but for the most part, it's going to be an amazing weekend!

Garbanzo Opens June 20th

Last editted Jun 17, 2009 at 16:17
The Whistler Mountain Bike Park has announced that the highly anticipated Garbanzo Zone trails will open one week earlier than planned, this Saturday, June 20.

“Weather has definitely been on our side this spring with lots of sunshine and warm temperatures melting away snow and drying up the trails,” says Rob McSkimming, vice president of business development at Whistler Blackcomb. “We’re very pleased that the Garbanzo trails are good to go so early. There is minimal snow up there and crews expect to get most of the trails open for the weekend. Although some sections of some trails are still a bit wet and soft from the snow melt, the overall conditions are excellent for this time of year.”
