Sea Otter - 5.10 shoes

Sea Otter - Answer Racing and Manitou Suspension

Answer Racing is a division of the Hayes Bicycle Group and along with Manitou suspension have a lot of things in the works for the 2010 season and at present too with the all new Dorado. We were able to sit down with Denny Yunk and talk about the all new Absolute Plus from Manitou as well as talk to Melissa Buhl about her relationship with the Hayes and Manitou brands. NW School of Freeride Opens Summer Registration!

Last month, the Pinkbike.com crew had the pleasure of stopping in at the North West School of Freeride (NWSOF) for a few days. While we were there, the DH racers learned to back flip and Casey hit up some drops in between indoor park sessions. Heck I hear Spoiled Goods even got his flip on too. Commencal Furious - How it held up to a season of riding!

The Commencal Furious is a park bike by design. When we first got it here at the office, we called it a slopestyle bike and we were quickly corrected by the reading public. At just over 6 inches of travel and weighing in just under 39 pounds, the Furious is a gravity ready machine that begs to be shuttled and slung onto a chairlift for the majority of its riding days. This past season Colton King piloted the Furious down several DH race courses, a few bike parks and lots of local shuttle areas.

Sea Otter - X Fusion Shox

X Fusion Shox had a good presence at this year's Sea Otter Classic, from their booth to their race team. We were able to stop by and talk to them about the new Vengeance Fork, the Vector HLR rear shock, the H3LT rear shock and the O2 PVA.

Race Face Components grew up and lives on the North Shore, but they are widely received as some of the best parts you can put on your bike, no matter where you live. At this year's Sea Otter Classic, Julian from Race Face took us on a tour of their current and forth coming components. Lots of great new colors, graphics and completely revamped parts coming to us in the weeks ahead.

Matt Hunter Interview

Matt Hunter hails from Kamloops BC and is one of the top freeriders in our sport. He won the Race Face UFC contest years ago and was catapulted into the eyes of riders around the world. Since that time Matt has appeared in numerous videos and appeared in pretty much every mountain bike magazine in print. We were able to talk to him recently about riding and life.

Sea Otter - Fox Racing Shox and the Athertons

Fox Racing Shox and the Athertons teamed up last season and made quite the impact with both Rach and Gee winning Worlds in 2008. For this year, they are continuing to work even closer together to refine the DHX RC4 rear shock and tune the forks to keep the Athertons on the podiums. Dan, Gee and Rach all spent the winter living down the road from Fox Racing Shox in Watsonville, California and worked directly with the engineers to help bring you the best possible products for your cycling needs.

Sea Otter - The Hive - Chub hubs and Fifteen G Cranks

Chris Costello from the Hive talks to us about the exciting new hubs from chub and their new Fifteen G cranks. The hubs are so unique in appearance that it's tough not to ask questions about them. While the Fifteen G cranks use an interface from WWII tanks that offers a 100% surface contact area that makes them bomber.

Sea Otter - Cannondale and Chris Van Dine

Cannondale bikes is an industry leader in innovative technologies and their 3D forging adds to this list. About 4 years ago, they first did this on their Rush XC bike, where they incorporated the stem and internal headtube for the lefty fork. Today they are doing a lot more complex things with this technology. Team rider Chris Van Dine was also just pulling into the show and we were able to talk to him about his pre-season in South America and what all he's got planned for 2009.

Sea Otter - Crankbros, Jill Kintner and Bryn Atkinson

Veterans of the race scene, Jill Kintner and Bryn Atkinson have gone privateer for 2009. They have one bad ass Sprinter Van and all the sponsor support a team could ask for going into this season. One of their newest programs is with CrankBros and their new wheel sets. Both Jill and Bryn will be running and testing Crankbros. wheels through out the 2009 season.
