Leanna Gerrard - Bike Check

Last editted Sep 11, 2008 at 10:06
Leana Gerrard is from the Pacific North West and grew up cutting her teeth on the BMX and then MTB race circuits. She specializes in gate racing but loves the DH side just as much. Recently Leana's season came to a halt after a big off in New York, but that hasn't stopped her from being stoked and looking forward to next season. I had a chance to sit down with her and her custom set up Cannondale Rize that she races for 4X and Dual.

Have a look at her race machine and her video interview inside:

Last editted Aug 28, 2008 at 20:40
So everyone wants to go to Crankworx to see the slopestyle, all the races and hit up the parties at night right? What if I told you the best event wasn't at the hill, but rather in the woods behind Emerald just north of the village?

Well have a look at the fun times that were this year's 3rd Annual SRAM Wiffle Golf and Arm Wrestling invitational and enjoy the video too.

Truvativ HammerSchmidt - For those about to ride!

Last editted Aug 22, 2008 at 18:20
A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of attending the Truvativ HammerSchmidt launch in the beautiful town of Pemberton B.C. Pemberton was the perfect setup for this launch as the riding in and around town is tough to rival anywhere. Great ascents that rewarded you with even better descending are in abundance there and the terrain is what HammerSchmidt was built to excel on.

Here is my personal take on my experience with the Truvativ HammerSchmidt:

Ben Reid is from Northern Ireland and for the past few years has become a well known racer on the WC DH circuit. His team of one "Just Reid" travels all around the world to race and follow his passion. He and his mechanic Ali don't lead the life of a rock star, but they are here to race and get the job done.

Chris Kovarik - Bike Check

Last editted Aug 20, 2008 at 9:46
Chris Kovarik is easily one of the most recognized faces in DH racing today. He's been destroying tracks for years and shows no signs of slowing down. This past week was the 9 day gravity event known as Crankworx in Whistler BC and he was one of few top pros to compete in all the timed events.

Transition Days part 2

Last editted Aug 8, 2008 at 21:06
The crew at Transition Bikes love to ride what they build and it was evident that they ride a lot by the way they charged on all the rides we did. The bikes they build are built to get out there and ride hard on, because that's what they do on them. Both days were filled with lots of riding and information on the company.

Here's a look at some new models coming out soon:

Transition Days part 1

Last editted Aug 8, 2008 at 19:57
A few days ago I had the pleasure of attending Transition Bike Days down in Ferndale Washington. Transition is having two showings for their dealers and invited media to go over the changes that will be coming up in their model runs. That and to show everyone that they ride the bikes they make and the local trails that they ride those bikes on.

Here is my first update from Transition Days:

Last editted Jul 30, 2008 at 10:22
This past weekend saw an amazing amateur event take place over the course of two days. Day one was a street course on the movie set of Chicago Town in Vancouver, while day two moved everything up to Whistler for a show down in the Boneyard. While the riders battled it out for two days, everything was getting captured on film by amateur videographers as well as some Red Bull assigned pros.

Now it's time to cut the footage up and submit your best ReCut from the weekend's event. Read more to learn all the details. (Links to over 200 pictures inside)

Darcy Turenne - Interview

Last editted Jul 28, 2008 at 12:56
Darcy Turenne seems to have something figured out in the industry of ours as she is one of the few successful riders making it as a freerider and she's a woman in a sport heavily dominated by men. It's great to see the ladies side of the sport gaining recognition and support from with in and outside the industry.

While in Whistler a few weeks ago I was able to sit down with Darcy for a bit and talk to her about life and bikes. Here's what she had to say:
