Calling in Well and it's benefits!

Last editted Jun 28, 2008 at 14:55
Friday was a day meant for travel as I hit the road for the next 10 days. After a great breakfast in Kamloops it was time to make my way east to the next BC Cup DH race in Invermere BC, along the way I decided I'd side track myself with a few hours at Silver Star in Vernon. Without any attempt to sway my best friend out of work and to join me, he looked up from his breakfast and stated "I'll be an hour behind, but I need to take a self improvement day and biking is the best reason I can think of!"

RockShox Domain 318 and Vivid 5.1 get freelaped in Whistler

Last editted Jun 25, 2008 at 16:33
So you've got yourself some fancy new suspension for your two wheeler, but have no idea what the dials on it do? Well that is a common situation for a lot of riders out there, so last weekend I had the opportunity to do some testing to see how different set ups can effect the ride of my bike. Feel is one thing, but I also wanted to know how the set ups would effect my time on a set course so I met up with Tyler Morland, Kenny Smith and Adam Billinghurst for some freelap testing.

Here are the results and my impressions from the various set ups we tried that day-enjoy the video too!

Last editted Jun 24, 2008 at 16:33
A little over a week ago I had the pleasure of attending the Shimano SAINT product launch in Whistler B.C. Unlike the Sea Otter unveiling where we go touch but not ride the products, this was the total opposite. We were all there to ride and ride some more!

Check out the SAINT groupo in action and all the initial impressions inside!

Danice Uyesugi to represent Canada at World Champs in less than 2 weeks time

Last editted Jun 9, 2008 at 16:52
Yes it is true, our own Danice Uyesugi will be one of the Elite Women racers representing Canada in 2 weeks time at the World Championships in Italy. With a second and a first place finish at the first two rounds of the Canada Cup series it’s put her into the overall points lead and on a plane to Italy. This is Danice’s first year as a pro and only her second season racing, so we and all her sponsors are very excited for her.

Danice stopped by on Saturday to ride some trails and I shot some pics of her in action.

Noel at Knolly has been designing some gorgeous bikes now for a few years and takes a whole new level of pride in offering folks the highest quality he can bring to all his models. These bikes are built to get the job done day after day and keep you smiling by the amount of stoke they are bringing to their owners. We got our paws on a Delirium T frame and have taken on the task of building it up as an All Mountain pedaler with an emphasis on its Freeride capabilities.

Commencal Furious, meet Colton King

Last editted May 1, 2008 at 19:44
The Commencal Furious is Cedric Gracia’s answer to a slopestyle, 4X and all around pinning machine. Its development has taken place over the past few years and is now in full production and ready for all of us in the general public to get our greasy paws on it. We here at Pinkbike.com wanted to see just what a bike that was put together by the “Entertainer” himself was able to dish out and take, so we dug deep into our bike testers and pulled out Colton King. Colton may be the youngest rider we have on the squad, but his experience list (or should I say injury list) reads like a long time veteran’s would.

Read on to learn more about the Furious and Colton as they get introduced to each other.

Each year Sea Otter is a gathering place for media folks to catch glimpses of new products. Some companies let us know ahead of time while others simply surprise everyone. This year was no exception with goods coming out of various camps like SRAM, Fox Shox, Shimano SAINT, FSA, Yeti and Trek to name a few of the big ones.

Here's a look at the goods we were given the opportunity to really look over:

Sea Otter 2008 - Wrap it up boys!

Last editted Apr 25, 2008 at 21:32
Sea Otter isn't just about really cool products, that's just my favorite part each year it seems. There also happens to be a ton of riders there giving it their all at this season opener. Folks come from all over the world to compete and show off their newest sponsor kits and to be seen.

Here's a look at some of the racers (Steve Smith, Clair Buchar, Andrew Neethling, Ruardich Cunningham), riders (Andrew Cho, Dylan Korba), their bikes and of course more parts from everyone! Also check out the Dual Stunt and DH action!

Sea Otter 2008 - The Wind picks up but the show goes on!

Last editted Apr 24, 2008 at 13:24
Ah the rain is holding off and the weather looks good-if you are Canadian. The wind at the Otter can be vicious at times and this year was no exception to the rule. At least mountain bikers are a rugged group as a rule and the show still went on.

Here's a look at some amazing bikes and parts from Santa Cruz, Commencal, Cannondale, Magura, Ibis and others that were on display this passed weekend:

Last editted Apr 8, 2008 at 18:31
The trip is cruising along nicely with the locals being great guides and the weather holding out for good times in the riding department. Since I have been off the comp and a little beat up I decided to take a day off and get some work done, while Gully and Splinter hit up the trails of Post Canyon.

Here's a look at the fun they had. Lot's of videos inside!

Gulevich, Brule, and Splinter - Washington and Oregon Road Trip - Part 2

Last editted Apr 7, 2008 at 20:12
The snow and rain of the past two days had our hopes a little low for good weather, but as luck would have it things were better in Hood River. Blue skies greeted us from the loft at Chico's pad and we knew that the days ahead where going to be good.

Check out what the crew got up to in Hood River:
