Fox presents Kirt Voreis' Thanksgiving Contest - Winners!

Kirt Voreis and everyone at Fox are very impressed with the response to their Thanksgiving Contest and want to extend a huge Thank You to everyone that took part. Five winners were chosen at random from over 800 written entries! The Pinkbike users that will be taking home the goods are Jarrod12, Jut8, Mattsmurph, Trickytrailsrider and Coburn. Kirt's bike sponsor Specialized were so impressed that they've added a new P1 bike to the mix. Prizing is being supplied by Fox, Smith, RockShox, Skull Candy, Camelbak, ClifBar and Specialized Bikes.

Seems rather pointless, they shoulda given it to a kid that had the worst bike on pinkbike so he can advance, or something.

 Thats probably why he got the bike. Specialized saw it was him, then chucked in that bike into the comp. But congrats to you all anyway.

At least 1rst place deserved to win all that stuff though! That kid wont take any of that for granted. Though I cant speak for 2nd place..

 Nah I appreciate this stuff, these giveaways rock! And eh, Jut8, I'm not trying to hate or say you don't deserve it or that you don't contribute to the community, I'm just saying when there are kids who ride on super-cycles, why give a demo to someone who's sponsored?

It would be like Ken Block winning a decked Subaru, apposed to someone who rally races a say Civic hatchback.. You won fair and square, enjoy the bike, but I think Pinkbike's next great challenge to overcome as a site, is to figure out a way to hold a contest, which distributes prizes not only based on a fair contest, but on the basis of who could really need it out there. Kinda like the Follow Me contest, or Alienation's last contest of writing an essay.

 Newsflash: Jut8 is not a factory sponsored Specialized rider. He is however a hard working leader of a grassroots DH racing team in the eastern US who has unselfishly secured factory support for a whole team of riders of all ages. Justin also works at a bike shop, goes to school, and earns money for his family and toys like other driven people with a work ethic and a need to ride. Perhaps some of you snotty nosed lazy little PABs need take your outstretched "gimme" hands in your pants, and go out and create opportunities for yourselves with some ambition like Jut has, and then sign up for a contest and randomly win a bike like he did. Congrats Justin.

 Oh that is rad! Wish I would have signed up for this one. Could of used the Totem for my fork-less Canfield. Either way I am thankful that I get to ride almost everyday, and have an abundance of great trails within a stones throw away.

I'm grateful for the semester to be over next week and for friends and family to be visiting for the holidays.

For 2011, the big bike vacation will hopefully be a self supported tour around Lake Superior with homies from back east.

I hope 2011 is the best riding year yet for all of you! Ride on!

 It would be nice, but then again he may well donate his old one to a local rider, or keep it as a spare so if any of his bikeless mates want to get into riding they can give it a go.  Yeah, but we all might have missed it by a mile. Some of the guys got a pile of cool stuff. He got something kinda cool. Why they make such a huge gap between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, 4th and then a consolation price for 5th? They should have spread the goods out a little more in my mind.

 Oddly just got a reply from Coburn and he's stoked to have won something for free. Those that complain tend to be upset as they never got anything. Was supposed to be one winner and then we got enough to do 5, so really this is pretty rad!

 There was only 1 original prize, but Kirt's other sponsors were so stoked that they kicked in extra - A bike from Specialized, Clif Bar, extra stuff from the rest, so we decided to make 5 winners.

 congrats dude. don't listen to the haters. Just because you own a fleet of nice whips doesn't mean you deserve it any less. I have a bunch of nice bikes but that doesn't mean I wouldn't appreciate it and ride it. The bike could've gone to someone who was just gonna ebay it. At least you will ride it.
