Introducing Gamut USA Race Rings

Posted: Jun 26, 2009

Source: Gamut USA

Gamut is pleased to announce the release of its new line of Race Rings. The Race Rings utilize a unique tooth profile with wider and deeper teeth, creating increased chain engagement. The deeper tooth profile and wider teeth reduce the distance a chain can slip, increasing chain retention and ring longevity.

Made from 7075 aluminum and hard anodized, Gamut's Race Rings are a straight forward, quality option for riders who ride high caliber components. Race Rings are currently available in 32, 34, 36, 38, and 40 teeth. Odd sizes will be available in September 2009.

Weights:
32t - 29g
34t - 37g
36t - 38g
38t - 48g
40t - 53g

ha ha, talk about re-branding old ideas - I'm pretty sure all non-shifting rings feature 'wider and deeper' teeth profiles, my Middleburn, Goldtech and Raceface rings certainly have done!

Blackspire does the same. And yah your right, almost any singlespeed ring or non-ramped ring is going to freature thicker teeth.

Doesn't reall matter they will perform pretty much the same but i think the Renthal rings looked cooler and have a very durable coating.

umm just which direction does a chain "slip"?
wasnt the chain and cog relationship optimized in like the 1800s?

Yah i dunno, chains usually only start to slip if they are worn out and put under load.

the bmx guys would clean up if they offered mtb bolt patterns like Profile but I don't think they do a 4bolt 104. 110s in a 34t maybe
