Thanks bro. Yeah I jumped the shinkansen with my bike and headed on down to Niko's house. Would love to do the same and head out your way sometime. Will be heading back to Oz soon but hope to be coming back to J on an annual pilgrimage so if your here long term could make it real at some point in the future. Ride On in Odawara !
Laputa is a fictional island floating by means of magnetic levitation, originally mentioned in Gulliver's Travels, and resurrected in Miyazaki's "Castle in the Sky". Fun flick by the way...
A fan of Miyazaki at any rate. Great storyteller. I'm a teacher, father of daughters (common theme in his films is girls growing strong in the face of adversity) and certified old fart, so tales that hold some universal truth in them do pique my interest. They don't have to be by Studio Ghibli, but I've found a number of them there.

This video was filmed on Kyushyu Island the southern most island in Japan! All of these trails are connecting through a huge mountain range here in the city Tagawa which I have been living for 9yrs now!! Ride on man!!
