Lenosky rides Saint

Freeride pioneer Jeff Lenosky has switched to Shimano and Fox Racing Shox for 2009! Here's what he had to say "I'm psyched to announce some new sponsors for the 2009 season and after a couple months of riding the new stuff I couldn't be happier!" The first real test on his new equipment came in February at the Rays MTB Park "Odd Couples" Video Contest where he teamed up with BMX legend Taj Michelich to finish second. The contest paired up one mountain biker with one BMXer, each team had two days to create a 3 minute video inside the park which were later voted on by spectators at the video premier. All of the videos can be viewed at www.raysmtb.com.
The Shimano deal will have Jeff riding Shimano drivetrain, brakes and footwear as well as PRO Components handlebar, stem, and seatposts. "I'm totally impressed with the power of the Saint brakes which is really important for my style of riding and the PRO handlebar and stem are really light." Lenosky will also be using Fox Racing Shox on all his rides including his signature STP "The forks are great, the 15mm qr is perfect and keeps my front end light and stiff."
In addition he has also signed with Native Eyewear and and Tri-Flow Lubricants. "These are two more cool sponsors" said Jeff "Native has been around for a while, but under new ownership they have some awesome new products and are looking to support the mountain bike lifestyle with some cool projects that will be announced soon." " Tri Flow is a well known brand and part of the deal was making some bike maintenance videos for their website, if you need to learn how to lube your chain check out their website in a couple months!"
In addition to these new partners Jeff is proud to continue with his longtime sponsors Giant Bicycles, Fox Riders Co, Mavic, Clif Bar, Maxxis, Skullcandy and Straitline. Plans for the 2009 season include trials demos across the US, competing at the Sea Otter Classic, Teva Mountain Games and Crankworx Trials Comp as well as collecting footage for some upcoming video projects. Check out Jeff's myspace at www.jefflenosky.com for an updated schedule.

sick...
why does it say "*Freeride* pioneer Jeff Lenosky" i haven't seem him doing much street riding?
insane street rider tho
insane street rider tho
"Freeriding" in the sense that it's unstructured. Personally I think of freeriding as the discipline of big mountain type riding, but some take the term more literally.
"*Freeride* pioneer Jeff Lenosky"
pioneer, so over used, good trials rider turned street mtb rider, but i dont see it as freeride.

SUPER WEAK that lenosky ride a 15mm axle...
1) another stupid standard shop keepers have to worry about
2) that many more hubs that your LBS WON'T stock
3) from a 20mm axle, you'd be lucky to save a few grams, but you lose assloads of stiffness
15mm is the stupidest, gayest, most retarded axle system ever conjured up!

yeah there are even tests that say it's really not worth it that were posted up in the forums...maybe I'll go find them
who cares,he isint going to use a fox 36 and its stronger then regular axle. he doesnt pay for it they pay him to use it
Seriously, it means that you can use a normal Fox 32 float/talas for DJ'ing. That's sweet, since a 36 is a bit much for a hardtail. And if someone is smart, they'll just go to a machine shop and have them make a shim with an outside diameter of 20mm and an inside diameter of 15mm. That way you can just ran your 20mm hub with the shim on a 15mm fork. BOMB!
yea jeff used to ride a 32 back in nwd 3,oviously he prefers this 15mm thing or fox wnats him to prove it because people are hating on it.
it was my 2 cents and thoughts on konads comment. Its not a argument its my opinion which im entitled to. I think your the only one who doesn't "give a crap" Judging from all the posts of the lack of 20 mm axles on the forks hes using.
wow this is crazy, he's been with Sram for years, and even dropped fox when sram picked up rock shox. i know the industry is changing a lot but i didnt think somthing like this would go on
i met him, hes realy chill. he actualy let me borrow his multi tool, and helped my freind in 07 when he crashed.

[Insert rider name here] now rides for [company] for 09' [rider name] says "I'm so stoked to be on [company] because they are so chill and they make great stuff. The new [techno-blah blah] is great because [insert product description] and I really need that for what do.
All of these sponsor updates are just sickening product plugs, it goes to show that what you ride means shit compared to how good you are at riding.

15mm qr are actually going to become an industry stanard so you wouldnt have to worry about not being able to find hub that fits lilwaters so cool your jets
15mm bolt through axle for forks instead of the dreaded old 9mm qr crap of old so a lot stiffer with less flexxing and less brake rub.
mechanics are just twisty old nacks and need a new job as all they seem to do on pinkbike is bitch.

uh...mechanics know bikes the best out of probably anyone in industry since they deal w/ the highest volume of bikes and widest range of parts
if they know so much then surely 15mm is the way forward regardless of how much they gotta learn,if anything the new 15mm axles should simplify things.
i would have to disagree with you STRONGLY... comparing apples to apples, how much weight is actually saved between Rock Shox's Maxle Lite system, and a 15mm axle system... then consider the loss of stiffness in the axle... is that kind of drawback REALLY worth the few grams you'd save?
15mm is an abortion... give it time, if intelligence prevails, this will slowly dissolve away...

ok i agree that the maxle light is indeed a great invention, however for the xc market 15mm is more than enough to cope with what can be thrown at it,and you have to admit its a great step forward compared to the 9mm qr of old, shimano dont make stuff for the sake of just trends.
I love this. See? We all can get along: http://www.raysmtb.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=24&Itemid=27
I think he prefers the $ hes being paid more than the axle size. LOL sooo true same with Steave peat going to E.13
