Mmmm still hot out and lots of great gear in the desert-Outdoor Day #2

I had my finger crossed all last night, but no luck on the Outdoor Demo getting any rain. Hmm if this were the Fraser Valley, it would have rained like 6 times by now. Since I'm here though it was time to get up and get at it-grab a snack on the way to the bus and WHOA! Holy Hell that is a HUGE ASS line up for the bus this morning. Hmmmm looks like the rest of the world showed up this morning and were in line too-just over an hour to get a ride out to the demo. Here are todays goods:

It seems like the sun is always at high noon in the desert and pretty prime for popping pics of parts.

Transition Blindside

The new Blindside from Transition was brought into the ball game to replace the Gran Mal. The new DH rig will come in 3 sizes now so that there is a proper small bike for well smaller riders. 8" of rear travel, a floating brake option, 1.5" head tube and Decal kit are more highlights from this flyer. Like all Transition bikes, you will be able to build them up a la full custom spec.

Mongoose ECD

The ECD from Mongoose bares Eric Carter's signature on the frame and it's built to go fast! With 8.4" of rear travel being provided by an I-Drive system (isolated front and rear triangles from the bottom bracket). The bike sits 18mm lower in the front end now thanks to the 1.5" head tube. The 150x12mm MAXLE'd rear end keeps it all nice and stiff too.

WTB makes some of the best seats in the world and we all know that. Their tires are getting more notice too. The Graffiti UK (Ultimate Kombat) and the Graffiti SF (Street Fighter) are two examples of this. Making a DJ specific tire and a street specific tire help riders get the niche tires they are looking for to help them in their riding elements. The Dissent is the "Official Tire" of the Whistler Bike Park.

The majority of the day was spent wandering around checking out bits at various booths and there was some great little bits to be found.

Banshee had all their bikes here for the outdoor demo, but when I dropped by most of them were out being ridden. Here is the Rampart and the Pyre:

The new 2008 SID from RockShox was on diplay and man its cool. More information will be available in the coming weeks, but this is one trick XC fork. Check the mud deflector!

Steve Peat's V-10 was under the Santa Cruz tent and wow is that rig ever dialed looking. From the custom graphics, the custom white Avid Ultimates, custom Boxxer graphics, to the white Goodridge brake lines it was so sweet to look over.
