Win an epic winter mountain biking escape in Central or South America

Let’s face it – winter sucks if you’re a mountain biker living in a snowy climate. If you’re not up to the challenge – and occasional misery - of riding snow and ice-encrusted trails, then it’s into the basement or garage your bike goes, patiently waiting for the start of spring and another season of fun.

Why not flip winter the bird and follow the geese this winter?

Sacred Rides, one of North America’s leading mountain bike adventure companies, and their partner GoPro Cameras, leading manufacturers of point-of-view sports cameras, are teaming up for an incredible adventure giveaway this winter. The winner of the Flip Winter The Bird sweepstakes will choose their favourite hot weather destination and bring a friend along to enjoy seven or more days of spectacular singletrack mountain biking with Sacred Rides, along with two GoPro Hero cameras to capture all the fun.

The winner will receive two spots on one of the following winter adventures:

· Singletrack and surf in the Andes and Pacific Ocean of Chile
· Yoga and mountain biking on the Pacific Coast of Mexico
· Riding through Mayan history in the jungles and volcanoes of Guatemala
· Yoga, whitewater rafting, and epic rides in the spectacular Patagonia region of Argentina

“Our winter rides are all about getting out of the cold and ‘flipping the bird’ at winter,” explained Mike Brcic, founder and president of Sacred Rides. “They offer riders the opportunity to stoke their mountain biking fire through those long, cold months of winter. The winner’s friends are going to be fighting over who gets to join them!”

Each itinerary is full of singletrack mountain biking with local guides, spectacular locations, lots of local culture, quality accommodations, and hearty and healthy meals. Riders will also have the opportunity to learn about and support a project that directly supports local communities. When they get back home, the winners will have plenty of bragging rights with footage from their GoPro cameras posted on Sacred Rides’ website and busy Facebook Page.

“The Flip Winter The Bird sweepstakes speaks to all mountain bikers living in colder climates who hide in their homes, impatiently awaiting the return of riding season,” commented Rick Loughery, marketing manager of GoPro Cameras. “We look forward to seeing the amazing video the winners will get on their GoPro cameras!”

The giveaway is open from now until February 11, 2011, and the winner will be announced on February 12. Complete details and entry forms can be found at www.sacredrides.com.

Hey Louloulefou, we know about the birthday thing. Sorry about that - we used a company called Wildfire to run the contest, so we have no control over this. One way you can get around it is to log out of Facebook (if you're logged in), clear your browser's cache (or use a different browser), and then re-enter the contest. Just make sure you get the birthdate right the 2nd time.

Good luck!
