Check out the teaser for The Rise, a movie that I've spent most of 2009 working on. It will be premiering on March 26th at the Bell Center Cage Aux Sports in Montreal.
im not trying to get hated or anything but i actually dont understand why people ride rigid forks on dj bikes because wouldnt you rather have a bmx because it is easyer to move around and lighter please reply to my dashboard
Awesome teaser. I agree with fattrick as well though. Glueman, you may think no one cares, but what about the young groms that watch this? The groms look up to guys like them and I think it sets a bad example not wearing a helmet. And what about the paramedics that have to respond if something happens when they can be somewhere else? The hospital workers that can attend to other patients? So cut the crap about "their choice" because in the grand scheme it affects other people than just the riders that make the choice. And another point: MTB is an evolving sport and for the general public to take it seriously, certain examples have to be set. Image is huge. If you don't think so, then ask yourself why the UCI banned skin suits for DH.
I see your point about kids but in most parts (of the US anyway) kids MUST wear a helmet. It's the law. As far as geting hurt, that's part of the sport. There are all kinds of choices that people make everyday that are dangerous and you have to live with the consequences of those decisions. That's life. It's also called freedom. And get real, wearing a helmet has very little to do with a positive or negative image. Personally, I don't care if the "public" takes my riding seriously. And the UCI banned skinsuits because they are ridiculous and the pros hated them.
Skaters NEVER wore any helmets, when skating became popular. So why shoud bike riders wear some if they want to make the sport evolve? I'm not saying that wearing helmets are bad, or anything, but it's definitely a personal choice. It also really depends on what you are riding. You can see that in 3/4 of the clips, the rider actually IS wearing a helmet, and in almost ALL the clips in which the rider is ''jumping'', he is wearing a helmet. The only clips in there where the rider is not wearing a helmet are ''street riding'' clips, except fot jeremy's 450 fakie. Again, i'm not saying that it's bad to wear a helmet for street riding, it's just the choice that a lot of people make.
I am so waiting for this one. The last one You made, Everywhere, was just the best one out there. And this looks to be even moar awsuum. Nice! It's a pity I don't live in Canada...
_____ HELLO!____ This is exactly what I've been waiting for. A "street" MTB video.
Nobody can tell me that MTBs can't ride street just like BMXers do (and I'm an ex-BMXer). I see the wave coming and nobody can stop it. I have pegs on my BlkMrkt (and get lots of sh*t for it too) and ride street just like I was on my BMX bike, but at least this old man can still hit the rail from time to time and still be able to jump on my DH bike without losing it.
No brain, no pain, no helmet. I will never understand, why some guys don't wear a helmet. Have you ever thougt that you can ride some years longer because a helmet protects you from injuries?
I am more of a Big Mountain rider myself, but I appreciate all aspects of biking and I think its rad that this movie is showcasing more of the new-era urban 26in riding. big wheels on the street are becoming more and more popular, and its about time the riders got some well deserved cred.
Although I see where Tintr came from as far as his comment, still, Cmorash is right. Even though the dudes aren't making the smartest choice, that doesn't mean I want to see them get hurt. And yes, these guys are throwing it down. Hell, I'm still trying to manual!
^^ Why would say that? Don't be a dick, especially if you can't throw down half as hard as these dudes. Wearing a helmet is good idea, being some Internet posting douche is not.
I can assure you that all of these people in the movie are aware of the risks of being hurt. Expressing your disagreement by saying we should smash our face on the ground isn't really cool. Have you ever seen someone get a really bad concussion and/or open his skull in front of you? Like not in a movie or on a television?
Not wearing an helmet is a choice. I don't wear it on street riding as i don't go high and stuff but i do always wear it when im riding other stuff.
